Mmm mmm mmm these strawberry jam rolls are super yummy! My whole family loved them, there’s only 4 left in the pan, yes they were that good!
This dough recipe is enough to make two batches of strawberry rolls, you may freeze the other half or make more rolls, you can make cinnamon apple or any other fruit rolls with this dough.
I use my strawberry-freezer-jam for these delicious rolls, homemade jam is always best, but you may use store bought jam, the fruitier the better.
What you will need:
Dough:
- 1/2 cup warm milk
1/2 cup warm water
2 and 1/4 tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
1/4 cup butter melted
2 eggs
1/2 cup plain yogurt
4 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
Filling:
- 1 cup strawberry jam
2 cups sliced strawberries
For frosting:
- 4 oz softened cream cheese
2 cups icing sugar
1-2 tbsp milk
In the mixing bowl add the warm milk, sugar and yeast wait till becomes foamy, add warm water.
To that add the melted butter, sugar and egg, and yogurt then add the flour slowly start to knead in the mixer with dough attachment or by hand, the longer and better you knead the softer the dough, knead and roll till dough becomes smooth and elastic.
Grease bowl and let rest covered till double in size. Punch air out.
Divide dough in half and roll out on floured surface.
When ready flour the surface, roll out and spread jam and strawberry slices, roll tightly and cut with pastry cutter or knife, place in greased pan that is lined with parchment paper, and let it rise again. Bake at 350 for 25- 30 minutes till golden.
Beat cream cheese until smooth, add in the icing sugar and add 1 tablespoon milk, and beat till creamy, you may add the other tablespoon of milk if its not thin enough.
Drizzle or spread over warm strawberry jam rolls. Enjoy!
Total YUM! I am seeing it at 12:15 am, I wish there was a way to transfer food to real life via computer screen, LOL. I might invent or discover something in future that can help, LOL.
