Easy Black Forest Cake
Expecting last minute guests, or short on time to make a delicious dessert? Here is a quick idea I came up with years ago…and its stuck with me all this time. Any one and everyone who has tried it absolutely loves it!
- 1 box devils food cake mix (or homemade cake batter)
- 1 can cherry pie filling or homemade cherry-filling
- 1 container cool whip or sweetened whipped
Prepare cake mix as directed on box, grease bundt pan pour half of batter into pan, spoon over evenly 1/ 2 of cherry pie filling around batter. Cover with remaining batter.
Bake until cooked it might take longer than mentioned on the box because of the cherry pie filling, usually takes 1/2 hour. Check with tooth pick. Let cool in pan for 10 mins, completely cool on serving plate.
Spoon over with cool whip or whipped cream. Top with cherry pie filling, or chocolate shavings. Enjoy!

Banana Bread
My mom baked two things when I was a kid, cinnamon rolls and boxed cake mixes with canned frosting. It was my Aunt Rosie and Aunt Angela that were the bakers in the family. My Aunt Rosie was the only one that made banana bread and she always added chocolate chips to it. I remember loving it so much that I had to add them to my recipe, to be honest I don’t think I can have banana bread without them haha!
To make it extra special, I sometimes sprinkle mini chocolate chips on the top of batter.
