Fruity Pebbles, I haven’t seen them in years, many many years…probably since I was a kid! Of course the box says limited edition, which means they will only be available for a few months or so. I do not normally buy sugary or fruity cereals unless, of course, it’s limited edition, and anyone that knows me knows, that I am an impulsive shopper!
My mom normally would buy wheat or bran cereals, never fun colourful ones except for on occasion…and those boxes were cherished. When I saw these, I was transported back to my grandparents large dinning table, eating fruity cereal with my cousins on a Saturday morning just before the cartoons would start. Those were fun times.
Another fruity favourite was fruit flavoured marshmallows, I would just eat those right out of the bag…still do.
I received a bag of fruit flavoured marshmallows from Blossom & Bean, and I thought this would be the perfect thing to make with it!
A bit of nostalgia mixed with something new, try it yourself and if you are an 80’s kid like me…I think you’ll like it!
What you will need:
- 6 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal
- 1 300 gr bag of fruit flavoured marshmallows
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
In a large pot, melt the butter on low heat, and add in the marshmallows. It takes time for the large marshmallows, but on low heat and occasional stirring, the marshmallows will melt; it works quicker with mini marshmallows. Stir in the cereal.
Pour mixture into a buttered 13 x 9 inch pan, and refrigerate for a few hours. Cut into squares, enjoy!
So beautiful & colorful & yummy looking stuff. You probably got that cereal from States, right.
