Angel food cake is light and a little bit of a dry cake, that is why it goes so well with fresh fruit. I always buy it, either as a whole cake or individual cakes.
All you need is angel food cake, some freshly whipped cream or cool whip, fresh fruit what ever is season works.
My cousin Johnny’s wife, Elise, made this delicious dessert the other night. She sweetened the whipping cream with maple syrup, and added a dash of cinnamon. Topped it with nectarines and blackberries. Manning, their son, picked some fresh mint from the garden and it was the perfect garnish for this delicious and simple dessert!
Lay the angel food cake on bottom top with whip cream and fresh fruit. I used Dr.Oetker clear glaze, just follow the instructions on the package. Use the glaze right away it gets firm fast, if you left over, just re-heat to turn into liquid form.
