Ditalini pasta and meatballs is such a tasty and easy meal to make, using one pot! I used to make this for my kids when they were younger, I didn’t always make meatballs, I would just crumble the ground beef up…either way it’s really delicious! I don’t really measure when I made dishes like this, I just eye it, in the recipe below I basically write up how to make it and what is needed, you may need more of the ingredients if you are making a lot.
What you will need:
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- a splash of milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp ketchup
- 1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning or dried oregano
- salt & pepper
You can use more ground beef if you want, because I make them mini for this dish half a pound is enough for our family. Combine ingredients and brown meatballs, do not fully cook.
- Ditalini pasta
- whole tomato crushed or spaghetti sauce
- boiling hot water
I like to crush the whole tomatoes with my hands and add it to the meatballs in the pot, if you have pasta sauce you can use that, I use both at times.
Add in the pasta, and pour in the hot boiling water, you need enough to cover the pasta, season with salt. If the pasta is too hard, you can always add more boiled water as its cooking.
I cover mine and check on it. When done serve with freshly grated Romano or Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
