Hope you are enjoying and find my weekly meal planners useful! I added a dessert for this week. Since plum prunes are in season I picked out my newest recipe for you to try over the weekend.
I picked a variety of dishes for you. The cabbage stew, okra and roast chicken are family recipes that I grew up with and I think you will enjoy.
The kafta and mujadara were taught to me by my friends and they have become family favourites over the years. The curry noodles, I came up with that one; you can read the story on the post how that recipe came about and the eggplant stew is just something that I came up with and it is really delicious.
Monday – Grandmas Albanian Cabbage Stew – Can be made with or without meat

Any day you feel like baking – Prune Plum Bars
Let’s start the week off with my grandma’s cabbage stew! This is a simple yet very delicious dinner. My kids like this with yogurt on the side, but I just like it with a nice fresh loaf of bread. If using a whole head of cabbage is too much for you, you can make it with half of a cabbage. This actually tastes better the next day, if you have any leftover.

A simple and healthy dinner with no fuss is this Middle Eastern rice dish called mujadara, made with lentils, rice and caramelized onions. Serve this with some plain yogurt and salad and you have a healthy and easy dinner. Will go good with leftover cabbage if you have any, or will go good as a side with kafta and potatoes.

This is a tasty and easy dinner, not your regular meat and potatoes! This is made with a delicious tahini sauce that goes wonderfully with the potatoes and kafta. If you have any leftover mujadara from last night that will go nice as a side dish along with some salad.

Bamya or okra is a easy weeknight dinner, and goes great with rice and yogurt on the side. My kids loved this when they were younger, which was great because it was so easy to make!

This is a addicting and easy weeknight dinner, perfect for a Friday night! You won’t have any leftovers with this meal, it is just too good!

I picked this recipe for Saturday night, it is one of my favourite meals. It is full of flavour and I love baby coloured potatoes; they get so crispy on the edges, and they have different textures and flavours.

For Sunday night we have eggplant stew. I like to make this with stew meat and bake it in a clay pot. It cooks wonderfully and the meat becomes tender and the food is very tasty.

I thought since prune plum are in season right now, you may like to try these bars out. It will be fun to make with the kids; they can see how the plums change colour as they cook. These freeze great too, makes a for a nice treat in the kids lunch boxes.
I’m going to do the potato recipe!
