We had guests over for dinner last night, and with all the preparations the only thing I had left to do was dessert! I made some chocolate ice cream the night before, was planning on some cake or something….but no time. I decided to make macaroons but didn’t have any oatmeal, and no time to go out and get any either. I took a glance over to the table and noticed the bowl of dates sitting there, then I remembered these stuffed dates I love so much….

Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolaty Chocolate Chip Cookies
Oh Pinterest how I love thee…but this has got to stop! All these pictures of yummy food and desserts, I can’t keep up with it! I found this cookie on Pinterest and just had to make it! I followed the link to this blog otherisdeoffifty (link no longer works) the recipe was an adaptation from nytimes.
The original recipe calls for bread flour and cake flour, plus it needs to be refrigerated for 24 hours! I don’t have the patience for that….I love cookie dough so there is no way that would stick around… so I improvised!…
Peanut Butter Balls
My kids love when I make them these peanut butter balls, I love it too as it has way less ingredients than the store bought peanut butter candies. You can make them with milk or dark chocolate, if you have chocolate bark that is even better. It is easier to work with and gives a smoother texture….
M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies
One thing you must know about me is that I LOVE M&Ms!! Since I was a kid they have been my favourite candy! I am trying to avoid unhealthy foods and food colouring is one of them, but this is my weakness! I can’t help myself, I just have to have them! One of my favourite treats is chocolate chips cookies….so I decided to combine my two favourite things!
Now I know I am not the first to come up with it…but the recipe for this chocolate chip cookie has been a secret till now! I started to make this cookie when I was 15 and yes you may have notice that I say that often…that is because that is the age when my mom stopped kicking me out of the kitchen, and let me bake on my own:)
I did however change some things as this past year I have stopped using margarine, and I am limiting my usage of shortening to recipes that I think really need it! Those 2 ingredients and butter were in the original recipe, I now only use butter. It changed the texture of the cookie a bit but its still yummy, you can use shortening if you like!:)…
Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies
If you follow me on Pinterest you will know that I am always looking for new recipes to try! I seen a picture for these cookies and followed it to the blog cookiesandcups she had posted these yummilicious cookies!
Hers look more like peanuts than mine, I struggled at first with the sizes…first batch came out really big, the second time I made it turned out medium size then finally third try came out just right….reminds of Goldie locks and the three bears!
I ended up with extra filling, but that’s ok I will find another use for it:)…
Banana Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Crescent Cookies – Kurabiye
Oatmeal Raisin & Chocolate Chip Cookies
I love a good oatmeal cookie….one of my favourites is by Old Mills Oats, the recipe was on the bag when I was kid. Its hard to come by nowadays.
I made a few changes to the recipe, they ask for a cup of Crisco butter flavoured shortening, I much rather use real butter, with a bit of regular shortening for added tenderness (I love a soft cookie).
I add chocolate chips but if you would prefer you could just use raisins or any dry fruit you prefer…dates are a great alternative….
Thumbprint Cookies with My Homemade Jam
One of my childhood favourite cookies was thumbprint cookies! Helping my mom and aunt Angela making them is a memory that I cherish. Picking out which jam to go on the cookies was fun too! What makes them even better is perfecting the recipe over the years. Oh and homemade jam just brings it home!…
