If you like labneh, another name for strained yogurt, and strawberries you will love this! It is the perfect spread for bagels and dip for fresh summer fruit! It is so simple to make, only using one ingredient!
I don’t know what kind of brands of yogurt that sell in the States or around the world for that matter, but if you live in Canada, we all know the brand that makes the best tasting yogurt, the closest to homemade for me is the Balkan style yogurt. The flavoured Balkan style yogurts are as good, I used strawberry delight for this labneh.
I make my plain labneh using the same method. I haven’t tried other flavours yet…but I think lemon is next on my list!
You will need, strawberry flavoured yogurt, a strainer, a deep bowl or pot, a coffee filter or cheese cloth or paper towel; what ever you have, I used a coffee filter.
I used 3/4 worth of the container, you can use all of it if you want more or you can use less, it is up to you.
Take your strainer, place it over the pot or bowl. Place the coffee filter inside the strainer. Spoon the yogurt into the coffee filter, cover with plastic wrap and allow the yogurt to strain over night.
Discard liquid, and transfer the labneh to serving dish. Serve with fresh fruit, bagels, cookies what ever you desire.
Enjoy!
