Marinating chicken or meat with yogurt tenderizes and makes your meat or chicken moist, been doing it for years, what I haven’t done till now was add sriracha. Oh boy have I been missing out! I am a little late on joining the sriracha train, but I am here now and am loving it! I add it to mayo, stir fry, marinades, it’s full of flavour and adds a little heat.
I don’t really measure, I just add all the ingredients to a bowl and taste as I go along. I will share the approximate ingredients and you can go from there.
What you will need:
- 1 whole chicken or chicken pieces
3/4 -1 cup plain or balkan yogurt
juice of one lemon
1 tsp seasoning salt
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp sea salt
sriracha sauce
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp Montreal chicken seasoning
In a bowl combine all the ingredients, start with a teaspoon of sriracha and adding more if desired, taste for salt and seasonings. We like it spicy, so I use a few squeezes of the sriracha.
Cut chicken into 8 parts if using a whole chicken, pour or squeeze the lemon juice over chicken. In a deep bowl combine marinade and chicken. Allow to marinate for a few hours or over night for optimum flavour.
Bake at 375 or 400 for an hour, or 1 hour and 15-25 minutes depending on your oven and how big your chicken pieces are, it varies. Check chicken before serving to make sure its fully cooked. Enjoy!
Made the marinade for this tonight. I can’t wait to try it tomorrow. What do you make beside it? Rice? Potatoes?
