Shish kabobs marks the start of BBQ season in our house! My favourite part is the meat next the onion, it gives so much flavour to the meat and the onion gets a nice crunch! You can use any vegetable you want or have for shish kabobs! Eggplant, zucchini, variety of peppers, onions, mushrooms just to give you some ideas. You can also make chicken kabobs using boneless skinless chicken breast.
What you will need:
- 2 lbs shish kabob meat or steak cut up into cubes
- 3 bell peppers
- 1 large onion
- 1 zucchini
For seasonings in approx measurements:
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 2 tbsp Montreal steak spice
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp seasoning salt
Marinate the meat for 2-6 hours or over night for best flavour.
Soak skewers in water for 10 mins to prevent burning. Meanwhile cut the veggies in bite size pieces and pierce threw the skewers carefully with the marinated meat.
Heat BBQ and grill till meat is cooked.
When I cooked for Piggly Wiggly I made the shish cabob, but I fried mine. I can’t find the recipe on howa to do it. They were so brown and good & everyone loved them. Can you help me?
