I was searching for dill sauce recipes for salmon and all of them were made with either yogurt, sour cream or cream cheese, okay one problem…I never met an Albanian that would eat dairy with fish! Mind you it might just be an old wives tale but I’m sticking to it, so I made up my own, dairy-free, recipe!
What you will need:
For the filet:
- whole side fillet wild caught salmon
- salt, to taste
For the sauce:
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1/2 freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp and 1/2 of freshly chopped dill
- 1 tsp freshly chopped chives or green onion
To prepare the salmon, cut the filet into serving sizes and lightly season with sea salt.
Grease the baking sheet and cover with parchment paper. Place the fillets on the baking sheet and bake at 375 or 400 degrees, until the salmon is cooked, which usually takes about 20 minutes.
For the sauce, combine ingredients in a bowl until well incorporated. I don’t really measure when I make sauces like this, so just taste as you go, and adjust to your preference. Spoon prepared sauce over the cooked salmon. Enjoy!
This looks amazing!! I love Salmon! So healthy, too. 🙂
