I was searching for dill sauce recipes for salmon and all of them were made with either, yogurt, sour cream or cream cheese…okay one problem…I never met an Albanian that would eat dairy with fish! Mind you it might just be an old wives tale but I’m sticking to how I was raised, so I made up my own recipe!
What you will need:
- 3 tbsp mayo
1 tsp mustard
1/2 freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp and 1/2 of freshly chopped dill
1 tsp freshly chopped chives or green onion
- whole side filet wild caught salmon
For salmon, cut the whole side filet into serving sizes, lightly season with sea salt.
Grease baking sheet and cover with parchment paper, place fillets on baking sheet and bake at 375 or 400 degrees, until salmon is cooked, takes about 20 minutes.
Mix sauce ingredients until combined, adjust seasoning if needed, add more mayo, mustard, lemon etc. I don’t really measure when I make sauces like this, just taste as you go and taste test as you make it. Spoon over cooked salmon. Enjoy!
