This is one of my favourite sauces, simple and easy to make, and tastes great too! Perfect dish for those nights when you need a quick and tasty dinner, or as a side with chicken or steak.
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic grated or chopped
- 1 26.5 oz can of pasta sauce or diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
- cooked penne
In sauce pan, add 3 tsp olive oil and 1 tsp butter, add onion and garlic, cook till tender. Add sauce or diced tomatoes, simmer. Puree with a hand held blender to make a smooth sauce. Let simmer on low-med heat for 20 mins. Add cream and cheese at end of cooking. Add salt if desired, stir into cooked penne and serve. Enjoy!
