Nutella and crepes, need I say more? Growing up my mom or Uncle Bob would make us kids crepes; our favourite filling was Nutella! Nutella may be a new food item for some, but not for me. I cannot remember a time where Nutella wasn’t apart of my life. Though, I have to admit it tasted a whole lot better back then.
I took the idea from rolling the crepes with Nutella, and the cake part from my berry-crepe-cake, and made this delicious Nutella crepe cake! It’s so easy and delicious, and who doesn’t want dessert for breakfast, or for dessert at anytime!
I do recommend you waiting until the crepes are cooled down before layering. Sometimes when I am impatient I layer them when they are slightly warm, what happens is the Nutella melts and it becomes a big mess! Another recommendation is to make this when you are planning to serve it, this isn’t of one those make ahead desserts.
What you will need for crepes:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup 1% or 2% milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
For filling:
- Nutella
- fresh berries
In a large bowl, combine ingredients and mix well.
Heat a non stick pan, you may use some vegetable oil or butter with paper towel just brush the pan, use a 1/4 cup measure as a scoop, then pour batter shaping into a thin circle in the pan, I lift the pan and make the circle by turning the pan.
When edges of crepes turn golden start to curl up and flip cook other side. Turn onto plate. Makes 10-15 palachinkas (depending how big you make them).
Slice strawberries and or black berries and blueberries. Pat dry, you don’t want wet fruits.
With a small offset spatula spread some Nutella on each crepe, and layer adding fresh berries in every layer.
Layer the top layer with Nutella, and top with fresh berries, and dust with icing or powdered sugar. Enjoy!
Your mouth watering crepe cake made my bagel look sad but in a yummy way.
