I made these cupcakes for a bridal shower, the theme was hot pink, black & white. I made vanilla and chocolate with hot pink buttercream.
I made the cupcake tree as well to match the theme.
For cupcake tree:
- 2 styrofoam ‘cakes’ 1 large for bottom and one small one for top (circle or square)
- 2 silver cake boards, 1 large for bottom and one small for top part (circle or square)
- Glue sticks
- Ribbons
- Wrapping paper
- Tape
- Paper glue
- Wooden dowels and or wooden skewers
I wish I took step by step pics, its really easy, in fact every time I need a different colour theme I change it, no need in making a new one. I took 2 styrofoam “cakes” that you can find at a baking supply store. I decorated them with wrapping paper and ribbons, using stick glue and tape.
Decorating before hand makes it easier. For the bottom I used the larger size, poked some wooden dowels and pierced through the smaller styrofoam “cake”, pressed down, I used paper glue for more security.
Top with a cake board being careful not to poke, using more glue this time. You can use circle or square boards and “cakes”.
Decorate with ribbons to match, thicker ribbon to cover the middle and thinner ribbon for edges, I simply glued them on.
I also used a large cake board for the bottom for more space, its not attached (its hard to carry it around if it were.) That is optional, I only use it for more space.
When I put the cupcakes out for display I let others know,so that way they don’t mistakenly lift it. I hope I explained that well. If I left anything out, please ask.:)
I love this!! How many cupcakes did it hold?
