Well as you can see this was for a party and the guests loved it, it disappeared in a flash!
Really simple to make.
Basically you can use any fruit and cookie cutter you like. I used wooden skewers and toothpicks to put it all together. In the vase you can use a cabbage head or styrofoam ball, find a size or trim according to the size of your vase or base. In this particular one I use a pineapple to poke all the fruit in, the stems made a nice decor.
I did use a cabbage in one and covered it with parsley for “leaves” and cover the cabbage, the only thing with that you have to place the parsley last minute, as it tends to wilt very fast. Another one I made I used plums to cover the bottom, and yet another one I used strawberries.
You will need a melon ball scooper, flower shape cookie cutter, wooden skewers, base, styrofoam ball or cabbage head, and variety of fruits such as:
- Pineapple
- Melons: watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew
- Grapes: green and or red
- Strawberries
I used marshmallows in this one, in others I dipped some strawberries and marshmallows in chocolate. I also made candy with candy melts chocolate and coloured and added that as well.
Peel pineapple, cut into 1/4 inch slices or a bit thicker. Take a flower cookie cutter and cut into flower shape on each slice of pineapple. Any melon you choose to use, take melon ball scooper and make a ball, add to the middle of pineapple flower, Break a toothpick in half and use that to attach them from the back, ball side is front.
For the rest of the fruit, push through skewers, and decorate and arrange to your liking. If you have any questions please ask!:)
