One of my earliest memories was walking to the Market with my Grandparents every Saturday morning…it was in the neighborhood about a 5 minute walk….on our way back my Grandmother would either get my cousins and I a ice cream sandwich or a Coffee Crisp bar, Grandpa would get us a Neilson Jersey milk bar or a Tahiti Treat pop can, or a pink ball of popcorn….the neighborhood sure has changed since then….the market is gone, the candy store, and variety stores ,Good will all gone!
Well the Market and Good will have moved across town…no such thing as Tahiti Treat anymore….haven’t seen a Jersey milk bar in a long time…no more balls of popcorn! Thank goodness they’re still ice cream sandwiches and Coffee Crisp!
Till now my Grandma will ask, you remember I use to buy you Coffee Crisp? I reply yes I will never forget<3
This cake is dedicated to you Grandma! <3
What you will need:
- 1 and 1/3 cup coffee
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 Devils Food cake mix
- Chocolate frosting
- 3 bars of Coffee Crisp
Grease Bundt pan, prepare cake mix with coffee, egg and oil , pour into pan and bake in preheated oven for 35 mins or until done. Most packages tell you how long it takes for pan sizes, just check with tooth pick as every ones oven bakes at a different rate.
Flip baked cake unto serving dish, completely cool. Frost with chocolate frosting.
Take your Coffee Crisp bars and crumble them up in a food processor, not too long you want some texture, not dust!
Take the crumbs and just add all over cake! Makes a great quick and easy dessert that will please all!
I just bought a new snowman scene cake plate….this would look gorgeous sitting on top of it. I think I'm heading to the kitchen…..
