This rice dish is a little spicy, goes great with butter chicken!
What you will need:
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 pkg of 1 whole chicken in pieces
- 2 onions
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tbsp grated garlic
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 4 tbsp canola oil
- 1/2 pkg Shan Pilau Biryani seasoning
Boil chicken pieces and , remove foam from pot as chicken is boiling; discard.
While chicken is boiling, in a separate pot cook julienne cut onions in the canola oil till carmalized, add the ginger and garlic. Add the Shan seasoning and yogurt.
Take the cooked chicken and remove from bones, add to pot of onions, add rice and broth for 2 cups you will need about 4 cups of broth.
Season with salt and cook on medium heat covered off and on.
If near the end the rice is still not cooked,add a little more broth lower the heat and cover till done.
