Spinach Cake
This is a Turkish cake Ispanakli Kek – Spinach Cake that I came across a few years ago. You cannot tell it’s spinach, so don’t tell your guests or kids the secret ingredient until after they eat it…they will be amazed! Sometimes the green is a richer and darker in colour and sometimes it is lighter, it does not affect the taste of the cake, it’s just the type of spinach I guess. …
Baklava Lady Fingers(Step by Step)
Napoleones
One of my favourite childhood memories was walking to a European bakery in our neighborhood with my Grandfather, called Modern Bakery. We used to get freshly baked bread to go with our meal, and I got to choose something from the desserts. I always picked the same thing every time…Napoleones. My Grandfather would try to convince me to try something else as the bakery had many wonderful things to choose from…but no it had to be this!

Mocha trifle
I love mocha flavoured anything, I love tiramisu, so I thought why not combine both and make a delicious trifle.
This is a recipe I just made up using what ever I had in the kitchen, it was fun making it. I hope all who try it enjoy it as much as we did!
10 oz cream cheese softened
1/4 cup sugar
2 pkgs chocolate instant pudding
3 cups milk
aprox 1 cup and 1/2 cool whip
1-2 pkg lady fingers
6 tsp instant coffee
1 cup warm boiled water
Cut cream cheese in small chunks, microwave for about 1 min. Beat well, with mixer till creamy.
Add sugar beat another min, add pudding, 3 tsp instant coffee and milk, beat well till well blended.
Fold in whip cream. In a bowl add about 1 cup warm temp water add the other 3 tsp coffee and dip 1 side of lady finger or both sides (depends on your preference) place first layer of lady fingers on bottom then layer with filling.
Continue doing so makes about 4 layers of each. top with lady fingers and dust with cocoa garnish with raspberry’s, strawberries or mint or whip cream anything you like.
Chill before serving at least 4 hours.
Oh I used decaf, so kids can enjoy it!
Cake Bites
What do you do with your cake that just broke or cracked? Or even scrape cake that you cut off your cake…cake bites thats what!
Take your cake crumble with fork or mixer, mix in 1/2- 3/4 cup of frosting or buttercream. Mix mixture together with fork or mixer.
Roll and shape into balls. Place in fridge for about 1 hour, its makes it easier to roll into the sprinkles.
I find melting ready made vanilla frosting and dipping the balls into that, and then into the sprinkles is so much easier than using candy melts id your rolling in sprinkles.
Take any sprinkles and place onto a plate and roll them.
I have never tried them with vanilla cake, if you have let me know how it you like it.
